We believe families deserve clear answers about what's in their food. We're here to help you make confident choices and unjunk your kitchen with simple, realistic swaps.
We help busy families cut through confusing food labels and make simple, real-food swaps that actually work in everyday life.

Hi, I’m Michelle.
I started Unjunk America because I believe every family deserves to understand what’s in their food, and feel confident feeding the people they love.
But the truth is, I didn’t always have that confidence myself.
Like many people, I spent years caught in the cycle of convenience foods, sugary snacks, and confusing nutrition messages. I knew I cared about my health, but the modern food world made it incredibly easy to fall into habits that didn’t support it.
That experience is part of what led me to start digging deeper.
With a background in biology, education, and health behavior, I became curious about why so many families were struggling with their health. The deeper I looked, the more I realized how difficult it has become to eat well in a world filled with ultra-processed foods, confusing labels, and marketing that often makes junk food look like health food.
Meanwhile, busy parents are doing their absolute best, standing in grocery aisles trying to make good choices for their families, and it didn’t sit right with me.
After years of teaching, coaching, and researching, I realized the real problem wasn’t that families didn’t care about nutrition. The problem is that our food system makes it incredibly hard to make informed choices without a degree in food science.
So I made it my mission to bridge that gap.
Through Unjunk America, I help families simplify healthy eating by:
Translating confusing food labels into plain English
Showing simple swaps that make everyday meals healthier without sacrificing taste
Helping parents build confidence in their kitchens without overwhelm
This isn’t about perfection. I’m not here to shame your pantry or tell you to throw everything out.
I’m here to meet you where you are and show you that feeding your family real food can be simple, practical, and affordable, even in a processed food world.
Healthy eating shouldn’t feel complicated, and real food isn’t about restriction, it’s about freedom.
Freedom to understand what you’re eating.
Freedom to make confident choices for your family.
Freedom to build habits that actually support your health.
I’m here to help you take that first step, one simple swap at a time.
